The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking applicants to join our Elementary team as an Out of School Time Lead. The Out of School Time Lead is responsible for implementing high-quality out-of-school time and summer programs. Under the direction of the Community Schools Site Coordinator, this key position assists in building a community of success through increasing the quality of programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* In collaboration with the Community Schools Site Coordinator, plan high-quality out of school time (OST) and summer programs
* Create and maintain program staff, academic instructor and community partner schedules.
* With Community Schools Site Coordinator, hire and assist in onboarding youth program staff.
* Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the site by problem-solving, directing staff and community partners, providing building access, and ensuring program requirements are being met (i.e. attendance, meal counts, student to staff ratio, etc.).
* Ensure program staff have the tools they need to create culturally responsive, high-quality lesson plans for out-of-school time activities that are tied to program and district goals and initiatives.
* When needed, deliver high-quality lessons to up to 20 students at a time, accommodating differences in developmental styles and learning or supervise students in transitions, meals, or unstructured playtime.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues to promote a positive program climate.
* Manage administrative tasks such as creating registration systems, logging attendance, ordering supplies, gathering data, etc.
* Ensure the physical, social, and emotional safety of all students at all times.
* Support student needs and address behavior concerns from an equitable and strengths-based perspective.
* Support staff in addressing student behavior concerns with students. Determine appropriate responses for behavior concerns and communicate the response with families.
* Support the expansion, alignment, and successful implementation of 21st Century OST programming by completing training, assisting in continuous quality improvement data collection (surveys, interviews, etc.) and utilizing best practices for lesson planning and student engagement.
* Assist the nutrition services department by distributing snacks or meals, tracking distribution, and cafeteria supervision.
* Effectively collaborate with other departments in the district (nutrition services, building maintenance, etc.)
* Assist in coordinating student leadership opportunities in collaboration with the Community Schools Site Coordinator and others.
* Maintain the youth program staff office space and supply inventory.
* Represent the community schools team at community engagement events.
* Communicate the Community Schools philosophy and programs to all stakeholders.
* Recruit students for the program.
* Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
* Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and, Abilities Preferred:
* Thorough knowledge of school and district rules, regulations, and procedures
* Knowledge of the Community Schools model
* Knowledge and understanding of effective community partnerships and community and civic engagement experience
* General knowledge of grant and project reporting, including data collection and evaluation
* Ability to relate and communicate effectively with people of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds
* Ability to understand and work with various community agencies and their delivery systems, including schools, county, state, and social service agencies
* Possess a high level of interpersonal skills

* Must be able to fill in for various out-of-school time staff when the need arises

* Hours will vary depending on programming needs, but the OST supervisor must be present during after-school program hours September-May and daytime summer program hours June & July
* OST supervisor will provide direction to youth program staff, targeted services academic instructors, and contracted service providers
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
Pay and Benefits: $19.39/hour- $24.19/hour, Benefits based on contract
Duty Days: 240 days, 7.5 hours per day (includes 30 minute unpaid lunch)
