Salary Range:  $45,119-$84,079, depending on experience
Benefits: The teacher benefits include contributions to health, dental, and life insurance plans, with the district covering a portion of premiums. Full-time eligible teachers can access the district''s Group Health Plan and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) if enrolled in a high-deductible health plan, with contributions up to $992.78/month in 2025-26. If eligible, the school district contribution toward dental insurance is $59.14/month for the 2025-26 school year, and the contribution toward life insurance is $20.69/month for the same period. Sick leave accrues at 12 days annually, with up to 48 hours designated as Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). Unused sick leave is unlimited, while ESST accrues up to 20 days. Additionally, teachers have access to bereavement, jury, military, and unpaid childcare leave along with a matched 403(b) plan and professional development opportunities. Reporting Relationship: The Industrial Tech/Woodshop Instructor reports directly to the Building Principal


East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district''s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Position Summary: The Industrial Tech/Woodshop Instructor will provide instruction to students relating to  the principles and practices of industrial technology, woodworking and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The instructor will be expected to develop and deliver lessons which will provide students with hands-on skills in areas such as woodworking and technology. The instructor will be expected to cultivate a safe, productive learning environment in the workshop and classroom.


Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Hands-On Instruction: Teach woodworking and/or industrial tech concepts through engaging, project-based lessons.
  • Promote Safety: Ensure safe use of tools and machinery; enforce safety protocols and maintain a secure shop environment.
  • Maintain Equipment & Inventory: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inventory of tools, machines, and classroom materials.
  • Assess Student Progress: Evaluate student learning through skill development, participation, and project completion.
  • Encourage Career Exploration: Promote interest in skilled trades and technical careers; connect students with real-world applications.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work with staff, families, and community partners to support student success and program growth.
  • Other: Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Preference given to applicants with a MN teaching license or ability to obtain a MN teaching license.
  • Consideration given to community experts.
