Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Special Services. Note: Paraprofessionals are used to support the needs of students in areas including: academics, independent living, problem-solving and behavior. This program requires the paraprofessional to be a trained van/bussette driver in order to transport students. This position may also require the paraprofessional to perform personal care duties which may include physical lifting.Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Special Services. Preferred: Candidates with a high level of technical understanding and experience working with secondary aged students preferred. Education and /or Experience: Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, approved competency portfolio, or pass MN Parapro Assessmen and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements: Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program. Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
