Essential job functions include the following: - Assist with the annual budget process including ongoing monitoring of program budgets, as it relates to revenue and expenditure accounts. Maintain district p-card program, capital asset records and accounts receivable balances. - Prepare cash flow projections and monitor monthly cash balances. Schedule and invest available cash to maximize interest earnings. - Assist payroll on semi-monthly payrolls and federal and state reporting areas, salary & fringe benefit structures and compliance/issues with collective bargaining contracts. - Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, including bank statements. - Provide training and support to users of financial information maintained on District financial software. Assist in the implementation of internal controls and procedures for compliance and efficiencies, as needed. - Coordinate the annual audit process including the accrual of revenue and expenditures, depreciation of fixed assets and long term debt obligations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty timely and accurately. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience with Minnesota school district funding desired. &#8226; Knowledge of budget control and revenue projections, governmental accounting standards preferred. &#8226; Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). &#8226; Knowledge and understanding of payroll procedures. &#8226; Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, forecasts and recommendations using spreadsheets. &#8226; Ability to train personnel. &#8226; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including formal presentations. &#8226; Ability to prepare and analyze comprehensive accounting reports. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision.
