The instructional coach supports the building school improvement plan to improve and close academic achievement gaps. The coach will support teachers in modeling ways to increase teachers&#8217; and students&#8217; use of technology as it positively impacts student performance in the classroom. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Support the school district&#8217;s strategic action plan including district mission, vision, strategic objectives 2. Support and facilitate professional learning communities, including the multitiered instructional support system for all students. 3. Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers to; a. Enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and set their own educational goals &#8211; Personalize Learning b. Use digital tools and resources to customize and personalize learning c. Provide multiple and varied assessment strategies aligned with content to inform teaching and learning. 4. Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators. 5. Assist instructional leadership and instructional staff with professional development and effective use of existing and emerging technology based tools. 6. Support teachers in implementing proven/evidence-based instructional practices into classrooms with the goals of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity. 7. Work with the personalized learning department, principals, and teachers to develop, evaluate, and recommend technology based instructional tools that will effectively and efficiently support learning. This will include, but is not limited to: serving on assigned curriculum improvement cycle teams, helping administrators and teachers build and effectively use common assessments, formative assessments, and learning targets while leveraging technology, and collaborative teams across the district as assigned to provide expertise and support the implementation of adopted tools. 8. Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance. 9. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. 10. In collaboration with teachers model the design and development of digital learning experiences and assessments. 11. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. 12. Serve as liaison between student learning and services and district Personalize Learning Department. 13. Other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES): Required: 1. Current Minnesota licensure in education 2. Three to five years classroom teaching experience 3. Demonstrate proficiency in using technology to enhance instructional practices and student engagement 4. Demonstrates understanding of curriculum design and instructional strategies Understands assessment design and 5 keys to quality assessment 5. Comfortable working in rapidly changing environment 6. Demonstrates leadership skills 7. Anticipates needs and establishes priorities 8. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance. 9. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships. 10. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
