ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Evaluate students with a variety of speech and language impairments including articulation, language, fluency and voice disorders; interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility for services * Develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans that include individualized goals and objectives designed to meet the student&#8217;s communication needs; monitor and report on progress; determine readiness for dismissal from services * Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy services * Collaborate with special-education teams, school staff and other service providers to develop appropriate modifications and accommodations designed to increase the student&#8217;s success in the classroom * Provide training and education regarding students&#8217; communication impairments and needs to school staff, family and caregivers * Counsel and involve parents on speech and language development support at home * Serve as a professional liaison between school staff and outside medical specialists related to speech services * Comply with required timelines per federal and state law, district policy and procedures * Other duties as assigned OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: * General knowledge regarding speech and language assessment tools * Depth of knowledge pertaining to appropriate treatment plans and evidenced based practice * Effective nonverbal, verbal and written communication skills * Maintain positive and professional relationship * Maintain confidentiality EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Master&#8217;s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from an ASHA accredited university is preferred MN Educational Speech Language Pathologist license Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship (CF) ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED: * Knowledge and experience working with students with a variety of developmental disabilities including, but no limited to; Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders * High level of interest and/or experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems * Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete the required job tasks Salary/Wages and Benefits Information: Per contract available on the district website at http://www.stma.k12.mn.us/documents/DW/Contracts/Contract_Teachers.pdf Application Procedure: Apply online Attention application materials to: Jeanette Aanerud, Fieldstone Elementary Principal Equal Opportunity Employer St Michael &#8211; Albertville ISD 885 uses the applicant tracking<http://www.applitrack.com/?r=MNEdPost> system from Frontline Education to manage employment applications online

POSITION TITLE:  Speech-Language Pathologist
  
POSITION PURPOSE
