SCHOOL COUNSELOR POSITION 2018-2019 The Wright Technical Center &#8211; ISD #966 in Buffalo, MN is seeking a qualified applicant for a 1.0 FTE School Counselor position starting the 2018-19 academic school year in our ALC. The WTC is a 7-12 school focusing on career, technical, and alternative education. Qualifications: Interested applicants must hold a valid MN K-12 School Counselor license. Starting date: August 20, 2018. Position responsibilities: * Conduct student/parent intake process * Conduct orientation activities for students new to the ALC * Assist students with course registration * Maintain a comprehensive list of district and community resources * Work with families and/or make referrals to appropriate community resources * Monitors student academic performance, behavior, and attendance * Participate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans as requested * Maintain records to document student interactions, interventions, and academic decisions * Provide conflict resolution strategies to students * Provides academic and career counseling * Maintain records consistent with district policies and Minnesota Data Practices Act * Conduct and facilitate conferences with teachers, students, and parents * Develop and maintain student Continual Learning Plans (CLP) * Direct school wide PBIS activities and programs * Implements prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals * Serve as the assessment coordinator for all state and school testing. * Participate as a member of assigned district committees * Assist with non-classroom activities and events: open house, parent-teacher conferences * Respond in a timely manner to emergency and crisis situations * Perform other duties as assigned Salary: Based on experience & master agreement (extended contract) Application deadline: March 30, 2018 Application procedure: Send an employment application, cover letter, resume, three letters of reference and a copy of your teaching license to: Shaun Karson &#8211; Principal Wright Technical Center 1405 3rd Ave. NE Buffalo, MN 55313 Our employment application is available at our webpage @ www.wtc.k12.mn.us<http://www.wtc.k12.mn.us/>
