Deputy Director, Hennepin County Library Salary: $87,000-$138,000 Hennepin County Library<http://www.hclib.org/> (HCL) is seeking a Deputy Director who will provide leadership for initiatives that impact all areas of the organization and will be responsible for the Library strategic plan implementation; diversity and inclusion, human resources, budget and finance, strategic services and policy and research; facilitating staff engagement and communication across the organization; and ensuring we are embracing the county's core values. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include: &#183; Coordinate, lead, and administer Library system functions including budget/finance, human resources, diversity and inclusion, strategic services, and policy and research. &#183; Participate as a member of the Library's leadership team; lead the Library's senior and management teams. &#183; Lead the ongoing implementation and evaluation of the Library's strategic plan, focusing on our commitment to diversity and inclusion. &#183; Support and encourage employee engagement by sharing ideas around continuous improvement and innovation to enhance the work environment and departmental outcomes. &#183; Lead the development of the department's annual operating budget request and oversee expenditures. &#183; Participate in the development of the department's annual capital budget request. &#183; Lead the Library in aligning our work with the core values of the county. Best Qualified Candidates will have: &#183; One of the following: &#183; A master's degree or higher in public administration, business, library science, education or related field and four years or more of supervisory or managerial experience in a large organization. &#183; A bachelor's degree in one of the above fields and five years or more of supervisory or managerial experience in a large organization. &#183; Note: Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. &#183; Management experience of complex projects and of service delivery across multiple locations. &#183; Experience collaborating with other departments, community groups or agencies to plan services and develop policies and procedures. &#183; Experience creating and evaluating programs, and creating and implementing innovative solutions/redesign.
