General Information Adams Spanish Immersion School is seeking a Temporary Intervention Specialist from current until June 8, 2018. About our School: For an international education without the travel expense, consider Adams. We teach all K-1 subjects in Spanish with 30 minutes of English instruction daily starting in grade 2. Accelerated math for grades 3 and up has led to test scores higher than the state average, and three out of four Adams students read at or above grade level in English. Our core curriculum is enhanced by specialists in art, music and physical education. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of the PBIS philosophy. * Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities within the elementary school student population.. * Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles. * Knowledge of instructional technologies. * Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, district staff and community members from diverse backgrounds. * Excellent organizational skills. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing. * Ability to support district and schools goals and objectives. * Ability to develop behavior supports to address varying student needs and diverse student populations. * Ability to work in a cooperative learning environment. * Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate. Responsibilities The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties. * Provide behavior support utilizing the PBIS framework, school-wide behavior handbook, and consultation with other support staff. * Develop and implement behavior support plans for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students. * Participate in bi-weekly PBIS Team Meetings and weekly Student Success Team meetings. * Maintain accurate and timely input of ODRs into Infinite CAMPUS. * Maintain contact and communications with parents, teachers, case managers, and administration of students and work with them in the development of student support plans; participate in Readmit meetings with families. * Support staff with classroom management duties; enforce rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students when necessary. * Provide indirect and direct supports to general education and special education students. * Develop and present building-wide professional development relating to PBIS, student behavior, and school climate. * Continue to seek professional growth and development in PBIS; attend professional development required by the District. * Contribute to the District's Strong Schools, Strong Communities efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule This is a temporary position until June 8, 2018, working 40 hours per week. The minimum rate of pay for this position is $31,855 annually.
