Description: Special Education Paraprofessional - Temporary Assignment
32.5 hours per week
April 23, 2018 - June 8, 2018
Job Summary: Provides support and paraprofessional work assisting classroom teachers by working with individual special needs students or small groups; does related work as required. Work is performned under the regular supervision of assigned teachers and general supervision of the building Principal, and Director of Special Education.
Qualifications: General knowledge of the practices, methods, and techniques used in the teaching of special education population; ability to maintain confidential files and information; ability to deal effectively with special students and teachers; skill in the use of classroom and instructional equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, parents, students, administration, and the general public. Experience working with students who receive special education services.
Working Conditions: Work requires stooping, reaching, standing and walking; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
