LAURA JEFFREY ACADEMY is the first STEM middle school in MN with a comprehensive liberal arts, girl-focused curriculum. POSITION: Middle School Math Teacher (1 FTE) PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide quality math instruction and assessment aligned with state and national standards while working in an interdisciplinary team environment. Lead planning and implementation of small group personalized instruction that supports learners at all achievement levels by working closely with educational support staff to ensure consistent implementation of teaching and learning strategies Possess knowledge of what is best practice in educating the adolescent learner &#8211; climate, content and pedagogy. Understand the theories and research that underlie and support the school&#8217;s inquiry based curriculum and instructional approaches. Engage in constant reflective practices, individually and with peers, to improve the quality of your professional practice. Work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure progress of all students Communicate regularly with parents about individual student progress. Participate in IEP meetings, Student Support Teams, and Problem Solving Team meetings. Understand and model LJA principles with students and parents, board, and community.
