ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION Prairie Seeds Academy is a K-12 public charter school located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Creating a Social-Emotional Learning Environment JOB INFORMATION Job Title: Director of Operations Reports to: Bao Vang, President- Thrive Education Hours: 7:15am &#8211; 3:40pm, Monday through Friday Office Location: 6200 W Broadway Ave N. Brooklyn Park, MN 55428 Salary Range: DOE JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of Thrive Education, the Director of Operations oversees all day to day operations of general business that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including Human Resources, Accounting, IT, Media, Athletics and Food Service Program. He/she will manage, coordinate, design, implement, strategize, and initiate decisions that will impact the overall employee relations experience all for the purpose of meeting academic goals. The individual will provide continuous improvement and training/development opportunities for staff to excel in their areas of expertise. He/she will be an integral part of the leadership team in developing academic and operational strategies for the school. JOB FUNCTION Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: Human Resources Management 1. Supervise and provides support and mentorship to the HR Coordinator 2. Manages the recruitment process including sourcing, screening interviewing, and making offers 3. Develops a comprehensive orientation and onboarding process that fosters a welcoming and learning environment 4. Develops, manages, and administers all employment contracts and new hire coordination 5. Manages the HRIS including payroll, timeclock, performance, and employee changes 6. Assesses current organizational structure and evaluates talent gaps and make recommendations when appropriate 7. Develops, coordinates, and manages the entire performance evaluation and merit increase process 8. Oversees and manages all risk management &#8211; WC, unemployment, General Liability, and Property/Building Insurance 9. Ensures a safety and security policies are enforced and protocols are followed through 10. Develops a comprehensive file management for employee documents 11. Coordinates all employee relations issues, concerns, and changes of employee information 12. Takes the lead on all HR investigations and grievances 13. Develops a uniform compensation and benefit package that supports talent and the PSA budget 14. Designs job descriptions that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of PSA 15. Identifies gaps in development opportunities with staff/teachers and work closely with the leadership team to develop training support 16. Manages the overall engagement and motivational factors to retain talent at PSA 17. STAR Reporting (Fall and Spring) 18. Other HR duties as assigned. Accounting 1. Manages and supervises all accounting employees 2. Develops policies and procedures for all accounts payable/receivable and expense reimbursements 3. Enforces accounts reconciliation to ensure checks and balances 4. Manages all credit card accounts and ensure appropriate and ethical spending 5. Other accounting duties as assigned Media/IT 1. Manages and supervises all media specialists and IT 2. Ensure proper inventory of school equipment and materials (curricular and non curricular) 3. Ensure proper procedures are being enforced for check-out and use of school equipment and materials 4. Oversee purchasing Athletics Program 1. Manage and supervises Athletic Program Coordinator and coaches 2. Negotiate, draft and present contracts 3. Ensure dues and fees are paid 4. Ensure game employees are paid 5. Ensure student athlete qualifications are met and completed 6. Oversee purchasing Foodservice Program 1. Manage and supervises cafeteria staff and assign duties 2. Provide required annual training and additional support as needed 3. Collaborate with food service management company 4. Ensure proper application procedures are followed 5. Oversee overall food and nutrition, KG milk and snack programs 6. Oversee CLICs - annual sponsor and site applications, submission for reimbursements, direct certification Office 1. Manage and supervise clerical staff- receptionist, registrar, special program coordinator 2. School wide communications- events, report cards, emergencies 3. Monitor waitlists and admissions processes 4. Manage and enforce office policies and procedures 5. Monitor systems support cases and communicate to staff as needed 6. Mange school activities and events and ensure communication as needed 7. Handle complaints 8. Oversee MARSS- enrollment, SpEd, EL, PSEO, Homelessness Engagement and Partnerships 1. Develops, retains, and cultivates relationships with community organizations, community leaders, businesses, and families on the work of PSA and potential sponsorship/donations. 2. Oversees all student and family activities including fieldtrips, events, fundraisers, conferences and concerts. 3. Manages and attends community events to market and showcase PSAs work. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor&#8217;s degree in related field preferred 2. At least 5 years of experience in an urban setting preferred 3. Proficient technology skills in MS Office and other software/programs 4. Outstanding interpersonal skills, presentation and facilitation skills 5. Ability to lead and collaborate; strong leadership skills necessary 6. Ability to accomplish tasks under pressure 7. Prioritizes and follows through on tasks and assignments 8. Ability to connect and build positive relationships with all staff members 9. Effective verbal and written communication skills 10. Demonstrates ability to manage time and projects efficiently 11. JOB SUMMARY
