&#8203; Position Opening: College Prep Elementary is now accepting applications for a Full Time School Occupational Therapist for Elementary K-6, for 2018-19 school year. Qualifications: &#8226; Minnesota OT License &#8226; Experience with special education testing relating to OT needs &#8226; Preferred Master&#8217;s Degree In Occupational Therapy or equivalent Position Description: Assess, plan, organize, and participate in school-based OT programs that help build or restore sensory and motor skills, functional skills, and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to students with and/or without disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Complete and maintain necessary records (communication logs, progress report data, third party billing data, etc.). * Test and evaluate student for sensory and motor needs along with other OT related needs as part of the student&#8217;s special education assessment. * Train and support teachers, paraprofessionals, and/or parents on techniques and strategies they could use to support students. * Evaluate students&#8217; progress and prepare reports that detail progress as needed. * Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in school to help enhance or develop students&#8217; skills. Provide direct and/or indirect culturally sensitive OT services for students with and/or without IEP. * Develop and maintain record of CPE&#8217;s motor and sensory tools, supplies, equipment, etc. * Work directly with IEP team to select activity programs or coordinate occupational therapy services for students as needed. * Plan and implement services, activities and interventions to help students learn functional school skills, emotional/behavior regulation skills, etc. * Help students improve decision making, abstract reasoning, memory, sequencing, coordination, and perceptual skills, using computer programs and/or other learning activities. * Attend IEP meetings and/or school team meetings as needed. * Regular and reliable attendance * Keep supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations. * Provide other support whether apparent, required or needed. * Complete additional projects as developed and assigned by your supervisor or management.
