Position: Activities Coordinator Full time 1.00 FTE School: Parnassus Preparatory School Location: Maple Grove, MN When: 2018-2019 School Year Job Description: POSITION OVERVIEW: The Extra-curricular and Activities Coordinator will follow the charge of the Principal. This is a support role that follows a 12-month year-round calendar. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Plan, direct and review the activities and operations of student activities, student government and student organizations; coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside organizations; coordinate school volunteers; oversee the training of assigned personnel. Provide a student activities program that meets the educational extra-curricular needs of the school. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Directly responsible to the Principal or other designated administrator. Will work very closely with the Academic Community Director. Directly responsible for the supervision of students and coaches/advisors in the co-curricular coordinator&#8217;s areas of responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Student Clubs and Organizations &#183; Recruits advisors, coaches, and supervisors for clubs and activities &#183; Provides for the identification of and supervision of club advisors &#183; Assists club advisors and members as needed &#183; Coordinates and supervises all clubs, their budgets and activities (including fundraising activities) &#183; Ensures that all clubs/organizations abide by state and federal laws and school policies Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor&#8217;s degree and Minnesota teaching license at the secondary level Minimum Job Requirements: &#183; Plan, organize and administer student government, activities and related programs &#183; Coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies &#183; Provide responsible and complex administrative support to the Principal &#183; Advise and instruct students &#183; Train and supervise assigned staff &#183; Communicate effectively both orally and in writing &#183; Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures &#183; Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others &#183; Operate a computer and assigned office equipment &#183; Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action &#183; Meet schedules and time lines &#183; Work independently with little direction &#183; Plan and organize work &#183; Communicate effectively with diverse constituencies &#183; Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports &#183; Direct the maintenance of a variety of reports and files related to assigned activities &#183; Maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance &#183; Hear and speak to exchange information &#183; See to read a variety of materials Institution Description: The purpose of Parnassus is to develop graduates who are critical thinkers, coherent writers, confident speakers, thoughtful leaders, and responsible, compassionate and virtuous citizens.
