Reports all payroll information to required government agencies and district vendors. Performs accounting/budgeting functions with lead responsibility for accounts payable and expense account functions. Verifies or assigns transaction codes to documents. Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of account documents, making adjustments as needed. Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate pay schedule. Duties & Responsibilities: * Analyzes, calculates, processes, and reviews designated internal and external forms needed to process the district payroll. * Processes employee paychecks and vendor checks, both manual and system generated checks. Checks time sheets for accuracy prior to entry, reduces gross pay by all authorized and required deductions to net pay. Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll. * Inputs and maintains data in the district payroll accounting system and generates and reviews quarterly and annual reports to various government agencies. * Performs periodic account reconciliations to ensure the correct accounting for employer costs and liabilities associated with employee wages. Coordinates needed changes with district financial accountant and or human resources personnel. * Receives and organizes documentation from personnel and vendors requesting payment. Processes requests for payment to verify all supporting documentation and authorization is provided. Researches requests that do not comply with local, state or federal guidelines. * Prepares, maintains, and verifies comprehensive accounting logs/ledgers and processes payments according to district policy and finance procedures. * Researches and analyzes financial data and prepares moderately complex reports. Completes state mandated forms and filings. * Assists in year-end close out activities including reviewing outstanding balances, closes inactive accounts, and other functions. * Researches and analyzes financial data and prepares moderately complex reports.
