Director of Operations Length of Assignment: 12 months &#8211; Year Round Primary purpose: The School Senior IT Specialist is responsible for onsite service and support needs for our teachers, staff and the school. This relates to all technology, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. Responsibilities The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: * Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs. * Able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair desktop, server, or networking hardware and software issues whereby remote support could not restore the service.? Subject to after-hours work to meet deadlines. * Up-to-date technical knowledge * An in depth understanding of the software and equipment employees are using * Good interpersonal and customer care skills * Good accurate records keeping * Perform on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis and resolution of IT problems * Upgrade and configure computer equipment as necessary. * Complete any required documentation in a timely fashion. * Responsible for security of all employees and client data. * Responsible for updating client documentation and processes * Diagnose problems, troubleshoot and repair computer equipment and peripherals utilizing remote tools * Process Service Orders to achieve client expectations within established Service Level Agreement (SLA) * Perform other duties as assigned to assist in meeting company objectives * Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc. * Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security. * Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix. * Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction. * Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively. * Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels. * Communicate to customers: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes, agreed outages, etc. * Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer&#8217;s needs. * Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities. Will consider candidates that are working towards their degree and nearing completion. * Professional work ethic, excellent customer service skills and attention to detail is essential. * 5+ years IT Field Tech experience. * Experience working with vendors and computer system manufacturers. * Must be able to read and write English and communicate effectively with customers, manufacturers, vendors and staff. * Must be certified in A+, MCP, MCSE and Proficient in Organization Infrastructure including Network and Servers. Preferred: * Formal training in computer technology at the Associate Degree level or equivalent. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server networking. * Experience working with ticketing system database.
