Must be a certified and licensed teacher for State of Minnesota Comprehensive knowledge of (1) instructing and managing adults; (2) State of Minnesota ABE legislation and mandates; (3) each cooperating school district within the ABE consortium Skills (position requirements at entry): 1. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and students 2. Planning for short and long-term programming 3. Supervision of staff and program participants 4. Organizing schedules and reports 5. Leadership and management JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate Adult Basic Education (ABE) services for consortium of participating school districts, agencies/organizations. THE JOB INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING TASKS: * Create and maintain the adult basic education consortium budget(s) * Determine instructional hours and schedules for each consortium site * Select, train, and supervise teachers and support staff * Generate staff contracts * Calculate time & expense sheets for all ABE employees, code (UFARS), enter into school financial system and forward to business office * Order all textbooks, supplies and equipment * Submit attendance data reports to proper program agencies * Generate and maintain collaborations and cooperative efforts with county agencies, school districts, community education programs, post secondary schools, the regional workforce center, and any other agencies that are deemed possible partners with ABE * Give presentations to school board and any other collaborative agencies * Keep up-to-date on State of MN ABE rules, regulations, and mandates * Keep a database of all learners and attendance hours for the consortium * Attend relevant workshops, seminars and conferences * Complete and submit applications along with financial fiscal report by State requirements.
