Mid-State Education District is excited to announce the opening of a brand new Special Education Facility, opening in August 2019, and are currently seeking additional special education professionals to join our team. The new facility will serve the unique needs of our students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and vocational/work based learning. Mid-State Education District believes in serving our students and districts with compassion and integrity; partnering with our member districts to provide innovative solutions; adapting to meet the needs of students and staff; efficiently using our resources to serve; and inspiring students and adults to learn and grow. We provide high quality staff development, recognize the value of team work, offer leadership opportunities throughout the district, and employ skilled specialists, including school Psychologists, Autism Specialists, and OT staff to provide additional support for students. POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this full-time position is to provide due process assessments, evaluations, and paperwork support across the Setting IV Programs. In additions, the teacher will be available as a substitute teacher across the Mid-State setting IV programs. Beginning with School Year 2019 - 2020 The preferred, qualified candidates should have a MN Board of Teaching License in any of the following categories: SLD, EBD, ASD, ABS, DCD. The position is for 182 days. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Also, there is potential for additional extended school year days in the summer.
