FTE: .2 Position Description: Candidates selected to fill the role of Art Teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence and foster new ways for students to grow their creativity. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. *This position could potentially be combined with other part-time positions in our school. Please apply for all areas of interest (e.g. Art, Music, etc.). Qualifications: * Must have a valid MN teaching license. * Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience. * Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of areas such as Art, Language Arts, Math, and early literacy. * Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners. * Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment. * Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with all students (including Kindergarteners), parents and staff. * Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances. * Must be learner driven and proficient with current technology to support pedagogy and student progress monitoring. * Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning. Please note: This is a K-5 position and a significant portion of the job would be working with Kindergarten students.
