Community of Peace Academy fosters academic excellence and character development through the education of the whole person - mind, body and will. Driven by peace, relationships and academic excellence, CPA strives to create an educated, empowered and ethical community, at school and within the broader society. We are seeking a 6th Grade Long-Term teacher to cover for a maternity leave in Fall 2019. The 6th Grade Long-Term Teacher will serve as homeroom teacher to one section of 6th grade students and will teach math and social studies to two sections of 6th grade students. The assignment will begin on August 20, 2019 and continue through November 20, 2019. There is a strong possibility for additional long-term assignments to cover other anticipated leaves up to winter break. The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license in Elementary Education, have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards in math and social studies for 6th grade, possess the ability to develop rapport with young learners of diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance. At CPA, we place great emphasis upon building community and encouraging character development through positive relationships. Developmental Designs is implemented across Middle and High School. In addition, all teachers are supported in their professional growth through weekly PLCs, structured common planning, and frequent observation and coaching. As a new Long-Term teacher to Community of Peace Academy you will be assigned a Mentor teacher.
