[image.png] Special Education (LD) &#8211; 1.0 FTE Job Description Twin Cities Academy is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher to work with students identified with learning disabilities. TCA is willing to support the right candidate with a variance for this position, a teacher with an elementary education license may be a good fit for this position depending on experience and willingness to learn. Age of students vary from 6th &#8211; 12th grade. Position will be co-teaching many of the classes with another experienced Special Education teacher. TCA has a well-designed special education program offering teachers due process support and evaluation support for both re-evaluations and initial evaluations. Special education teacher paperwork load is greatly reduced in our model, so that teachers can focus on teaching most importantly. Twin Cities Academy is committed to serving an urban population of students on the eastside of St. Paul to be prepared for the rigor of college. Twin Cities Academy has a commitment to educational equity and the qualified candidate would share our passion for serving students of all backgrounds to reach their highest potential through creating caring and healthy relationships with students. Qualifications Required: Minnesota Special Education Teaching License or ability to get an equivalent variance license. In the state of MN, if you hold another teaching license in any area you are eligible for a variance to teach special education in most cases. Preferred: Experience working in an urban school setting. A desire to work with small groups of students with targeted skill based curriculum in reading and math.
