RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES &#8226; Deliver high quality, effective supervision as directed &#8226; Effectively apply lunchroom management techniques &#8226; Foster a love of learning and passion for knowledge &#8226; Adherence to principles of the classical model of education &#8226; Lead and manage student contact in one-on-one or small group settings &#8226; General and special education support and supervision &#8226; Adherence to Nova policies and procedures &#8226; Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS &#8226; High school diploma &#8226; 1 or more years&#8217; experience working with students in one-on-one and/or small group setting &#8226; Proven understanding of development levels &#8226; Student-focused and education-oriented &#8226; Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to student and other information &#8226; Demonstrated professional and technical knowledge &#8226; Aptitude for work with students at various grade and development levels &#8226; Committed to professional and technical development through attendance at development activities, scheduled meetings, and relevant training DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS &#8226; Post-secondary degree &#8226; Current or previous experience working in a classical education environment &#8226; Experience as an Educational Assistant, Paraprofessional, or Para Educator &#8226; Current or previous administrative, clerical, or cashier experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS &#8226; Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of one hour or more &#8226; Must be able to exchange accurate information to students, teachers, parents, and staff &#8226; Regular operation of computer or other office machines &#8226; Occasional or frequent standing for periods of 4 hours or more &#8226; Occasional work outdoors in all weather conditions BENEFITS For eligible employees, Nova Classical Academy provides health, dental, and vision insurance; short- and long-term disability; life insurance; flexible spending account; paid time off; and, professional development training, including Classical Education Certification training. JOB SUMMARY
