Approximate position start date of September 23rd through December 20th, 2019. Will be responsible for teaching K-4 grade levels. Applicants must hold a valid Minnesota Teaching License or Long Call Substitute Teaching License. TCIS is a K-8 public charter school located in Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1100 students. Responsibilities would include (but not limited to): Teaching assigned grade level K-4 subjects using the plans set forth by the absent teacher, meeting the needs of each student through individual, small group and/or large group instruction, following all policies and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates, clear communication with both staff and students and contributing positively to the learning and development of students. Experience with standards-based instruction, English Language Learners and common assessments a plus. Specialist teachers see five (5) classes a day - one (1) per grade level and the lessons repeat on a five (5) day cycle. Teacher will also be responsible for a lunch duty, AM hallway and PM bus duty should it be necessary. Long-call teacher will be responsible for Trimester I grades, but will not need to be present for parent-teacher conferences. Positions are open until filled.
