Paladin is immensely fortunate for its diversity, which enriches the educational process where individualized programming supports the needs and interests of each student, thereby maximizing the potential for success. With this in mind, students are engaged in their education through a combination of project-based learning, experiential learning, work-based learning and seminars (short, focused classes). Dedicated advisers, referred to as Student Success Coordinators (SSC&#8217;s), build positive relationships supporting student growth as both educators and role-models. Position Objective: Coordinate and nurture a positive, successful, and hopeful culture within the learning community that empowers students&#8217; potential for social, emotional, and academic success in high school and beyond. Duties and Responsibilities: Career Team Member / SPED WBL Coordinator Responsibilities * Attend College and Career Team meetings * Evaluate, track, monitor students&#8217; career goals and progress * Track work hours, schedules, and compliance with WBL standards * Oversea student-led school store * Provide job coaching both on and off-site (good driving record required) * Plan, coordinate, communicate, attend Driver&#8217;s Education * Maintain/build community relationships * Provide interview skills and training * Provide student advocation in the workplace * Lead on-going job skills and training with students * Support Special Education Case Managers by servicing the individual education plans (IEP&#8217;s) of students. College and Career Practices and Accountability * Coordinate and facilitate college and trade programs tours and fairs * Coordinate a successful transition to postsecondary programs * Coordinate service-learning opportunities and partnerships * Support students with FAFSA applications * Utilize the Minnesota Career Information System (MCIS) with our students * Career and College explorations Other Duties As Assigned by Executive Director Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor&#8217;s Degree Required MN Work-Based Learning Coordinator License (preferred but not required) Preference: Possess a current MN Teaching License in Special Education or interest in pursuing a MN Work-Based Learning Coordinator License Experience in the following areas is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided: * College Admissions * FAFSA Application * Resume Building * Work-Based Learning * Project-Based Learning * Experiential Learning * Alternative educational approaches * Knowledge of risk factors facing youth * Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) * Educational data collection * Experience in a multicultural environment * Culturally and socially aware of social injustices that impact our students * Passion for diversity and equity * Trauma-responsive care * Restorative Practices * Circle Process * Previous work with disenfranchised high school-aged youth * Knowledge of community resources/partnerships Job Term: Full Time, 10 Month Salary and Benefits: Salary is dependent on education and years of experience in the field. Paladin offers a salary and benefits package that is competitive with surrounding school districts in the area including employee health, dental, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance. Dependent coverage is available at group rate costs. As a public school, Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) or Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) is included within the benefits package. Bachelor’s Degree Required
MN Work-Based Learning Coordinator License (preferred but not required)
