Position: Special Education Teacher, Grades K-8 (Full-time) School: Cedar Riverside Community School Position Highlights: Small school (about 160 students total), Small Caseload (under 13 students currently), Highly Supportive Environment Cedar Riverside Community School is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to work with grades K-8 students with special education needs through a variety of models including resources room, co-teaching, and push-in. In addition, the teacher will be responsible for paraprofessional support of students, The Special Education Teacher must have: * Thorough knowledge and implementation skills for specialized instruction to meet the unique identified needs of students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings * Thorough knowledge and implementation of data collection strategies used to identify target behaviors and document instructional progress * Thorough knowledge and implementation of due process requirements * Considerable knowledge about evaluation skills of students who may qualify to receive special education and related services * Ability to effectively lead team meetings, parent meetings, and communicate with all IEP team members * Ability to effectively work with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to provide supplemental aids, accommodations, and other needed supports Cedar Riverside Community School is a PreK-8 charter school located in the diverse Cedar-Riverside area of Minneapolis. It was established as one of the first charter schools in Minnesota in 1993 with the goal of meeting the unique needs of the youth in the neighborhood. During its 25 year existence, Cedar Riverside Community School has been diligent about maintaining a strong academic program while being responsive to the ever-changing population. It has also worked in partnership with many organizations, as well as educational and health institutions in the community. Employees receive a generous benefits package. Required Qualifications: MN Special Education license in one or more disability area (ABS, SLD, DCD, E/BD, and/or ASD). ABS or dual licensure preferred.
