Position:
SPA seeks candidates
for the position of Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher - long term substitute
for a leave replacement position at our K-5 Goodrich Campus.
Position Begins:
March 9, 2020 through the end of the school year
Status: Full-time, Exempt (long term leave replacement position)
Department: Instructional, Lower School (kindergarten)
Job Description:
Candidates should possess the ability to teach the full range of homeroom content areas including literacy, mathematics, and social studies. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the ability
to create developmentally appropriate curricula, establish a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for students, and work collaboratively with a teaching partner, various colleagues, and parents/guardians. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal
and communication skills, along with knowledge regarding best instructional practices in language arts, social studies, and mathematics. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with Responsive Classroom, Math in Focus, Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark
Assessment System, and/or Fountas & Pinnell Classroom materials.
Successful candidates are expected to carry out the mission of SPA, "Shaping the minds and hearts of the people who will change the world," to support
the vision of the Lower School and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.
Required skills:
Bachelor’s degree required.
