This position support parents of toddlers and preschoolers. The primary learning environment is a faciliated, small group discussion. The Educator presents weekly lessons designed to address identified needs of program participants and developmentally appropriate best practices within the Parent Ed Core Curriculum Framework & Indicators. This position coordinates lessons with an Early Childhood Educator to meet Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. Qualifications: Valid MN teaching license in Parent and Family Education. Experience in community-based and learner-centered programming and continuous improvement work culture required. Experience in presenting the Minnesota Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework & Indicators in a parent-education setting using current research and best practice also required. Bi-lingual skills welcomed. Two years experience in adult/family education preferred. Position Requirements: Knowledge of family development, family function, child development and parent-child interaction and group process. Successful experience in partnering with families and colleagues in a professional capacity. Ability to work as a team member in delivering programs to address the positive development of families in diverse populations. Must be able to demonstrate use of research based instructional and engagement strategies in meeting developmental needs of families in an enrichment-based learning environment. Experience using data to guide instructional decisions and provide responsive topics to current and emerging needs of group participants. Consistent and reliable attendance. FTE/Schedule: 0.15 FTE. Approximately12-14 hours per week for the remaining 20 weeks of 2019-2020 programming. Assignment includes Monday and Tuesday evenings (5:15 PM - 7:00 PM) between December 2, 2019 and May 15, 2020. The core assignment includes 4 ECFE parent/child classes per week, plus Early Childhood Screening. Program calendar and assignment schedule available upon request.
