Position: Circle of Life Academy K-12 Assistant Principal Open: 12-02-19 Location: White Earth, Min Close: Open until filled Pay: DOQ Benefits: Full Status: Full Time The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is currently seeking a qualified applicant who will be responsible for assisting COLA&#8217;s K-12 Principal in overall administration and supervision of the instructional programming and campus level operations, including coordination of assigned student activities and services. &#8226; Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs and staff. &#8226; Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate. &#8226; Implement student behavior management system that results in positive student behavior. &#8226; Expand 21st century learner skills, including technology tools, in teaching/learning process. &#8226; Amplify the integration of Ojibwe language and culture into general instructional practices. &#8226; Promote a positive, caring climate for learning. &#8226; Supervise COLA operations in Principal's absence. &#8226; Comply with all Federal and State laws, State Board of Education rules, COLA School Board policies and the White Earth RBC policies and procedures. &#8226; Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: &#8226; Knowledge of and ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council, Circle of Life Academy and the White Earth Education Department. &#8226; Commitment to Ojibwe language and cultural practices. &#8226; Thorough understanding of school operations. &#8226; Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. &#8226; Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction. &#8226; Ability to connect with the entire student body, K-12. &#8226; Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness. &#8226; Ability to coordinate campus functions. &#8226; Ability to manage budget and personnel. &#8226; Ability to implement policy and procedures. &#8226; Ability to interpret and utilize data effectively. &#8226; Knowledge of the White Earth Reservation demographics, culture, history, and lifestyles. Qualifications: &#8226; Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education or related field; Master&#8217;s degree preferred. &#8226; Minnesota administrative certificate or license, or &#8226; Willing to actively pursue a master&#8217;s degree and appropriate state licensure while effectively performing Assistant Principal role. &#8226; Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching and/or administrative experience. &#8226; Valid Driver&#8217;s License and insurance for travel between sites and other related business. &#8226; Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
