Bachelor&#8217;s degree in related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and training and/or experience as a secretary required. 2. Proficiency with software data management, databases, and word processing. 3. Working knowledge of basic office procedures, of equipment operation and of organizational methods. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5. Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic. 6. Experience with or understanding the importance of confidentiality within the workings of a large complex organization. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services or designee. JOB GOAL: To provide organizational support and clerical assistance to the Special Education Department. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides a welcoming atmosphere, information and assistance to staff, parents and students. 2. Provide clerical support to Special Education staff to ensure that the Special Education Department is in compliance with State and Federal mandated regulations. 3. Attend training provided by district administration to ensure continued compliance with state and federal statute and rule, guidance from Minnesota Department of Education, as well as district procedures. 4. Create and maintain current student files in multiple software programs. 5. Maintain current department timelines for student IEP&#8217;s and evaluations. 6. Facilitate student enrollment changes in the software system(s) and communicate specific instructions to the building secretary. 7. Organize, maintain and distribute paper files for Special Education students. 8. Provide authorized information to organizations needing student profiles. 9. Compile and report data for the purposes of State funding and District Special education planning. 10. Schedule, distribute and file agendas and meeting minutes for meetings. 11. Schedule legally required due process meetings with staff and parents. 12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per the secretaries&#8217; collective bargaining agreement. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually. TITLE:                               SECRETARY – SPECIAL EDUCATION (BUILDING)
                                     
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.   Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and training and/or experience as a secretary required.
