SHS is seeking an immediate, part-time, High School Resource Teacher for the remainder of the school year. This position has the potential to become a full-time position in the 20-21 school year. Required Qualifications: Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Education and a MN or ND Teaching License. To apply or for more information about the position, please submit a letter of interest and resume via email to: Blake Karas 7-12 Principal/Activities Director bkaras@sacredheartegf.net<mailto:bkaras@sacredheartegf.net> Resource Teacher Job Description Primary Job Function: * Provide educational services to students who have a variety of mild/moderate disabilities that impact progress in the general education curriculum * Work with each child as an individual, recognizing each child&#8217;s skills and help them to build on their achievements * Assist teachers in meeting the instructional needs of students with academic and behavior challenges while assisting in the implementation of classroom and instructional programs * Provide services to students, pending individual needs, in pull-out and/or inclusion settings * Ensure the SAM plan is being followed in the building * Adhere to Sacred Heart&#8217;s mission to promote faith in Jesus Christ, educate youth and minister to all * Perform assigned duties under the general supervision of the dean of academics and the program principal Duties and Responsibilities * Assist with the instructional needs of students in 7th grade through grade 12, such as those who have learning, physical, emotional, or mental disabilities or challenges * Help classroom teacher prepare instructional materials or modify and accommodate students * Assess individual students to determine the most appropriate teaching strategies * Follow through with the implementation of IEP adaptations (accommodations leadership deems serviceable) * Help students gain a better understanding of time management, especially with balancing daily tasks and study schedules * Adapt and or create curriculum as needed in specific subject areas to meet the individual needs of students * Work with individual students or small groups to develop appropriate interpersonal skills and conducts instructional exercises assigned by the teacher * Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom * Keep teachers informed of instructional needs or concerns of individual students * Use instructional programs that provide appropriate instruction to children with disabilities * Provide students support to maintain success in the least restrictive environment * Assist students with study skills or organizational skills * Help students adjust to the learning environment * Measure and monitor progress of students toward set objectives and communicate this progress to all stakeholders * Consult with regular classroom teachers, staff, and parents about needs and services for the students with disabilities * Develop, continually revise, and ensure the implementation of SAM plans * Monitor the implementations of SAM plans * Schedule annual reviews of each student on a SAM plan * Assure that plans move with the student to the next level &#183; Serve as a daily resource to the building leadership, teachers, and community members regarding students accommodations and modifications &#183; Attend periodic district training sessions and seek professional development opportunities in assisting students with needs.
