Position: Impact Coach Time: Full Time School Year: 2019-2020 Summary Under the direction of the Director of Engagement, the Impact Coach is responsible for the oversight of student assistance and family engagement to ensure clear understanding of CSE&#8217;s culture of learning and academic goals. He/she will create and implement a comprehensive program to engage students and their families in school-based assemblies, educational goals and community-based outreach initiatives. In support of CSE&#8217;s culture of learning guide and coach students along their educational journey, he/she will formulate and integrate a community-based strategy to best deliver services to target populations through a combination of counseling, in-person communication, digital programs, and social media. The candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic, including being accountable to his/her actions. He/she will align him/herself to CSE&#8217;s outcome driven culture and understands the unique challenges of working with an immigrant and refugee community. This includes ensuring that decisions are driven by data results and for the purpose of academic achievement while understanding the demographics of the school community. Responsibilities Student Engagement * Research, develop, and communicate new strategies to support teachers in the classroom regarding student behavior intervention; manage behavioral issues. * Understands and effectively communicate state regulations regarding attendance policies to student, staff, and families; meets with student and families regarding truancy issues as needed. * Responsible for reporting and monitoring of student attendance and ensures compliance of statutes and legislation is followed in regarding to truancy and student discipline issues. * Manage and track all state reporting on behavior. * Assist with supporting and ensure students mental and emotional issues are appropriately addressed. * Create a social/emotional platform and framework that fosters relationship building, team efforts, and positive attitude. Cultivate Learning Environment * Work with Director or Engagement, Teacher, and other staff to provide a positive and successful community culture within the school that creates the conditions to ensure the academic achievement is obtained. * Establish and foster a culture of learning by building relationships with staff, students and families. * Inspire students, parents, and staff to live out the mission and vision of CSE. * Ensure the implementation of the Excellent Way at CSE by creating guides for students, staff, and families that promotes the principles of the Excellent Way at CSE. * Establish and maintaining high expectations of students by holding accountable to the Excellent Way and modeling the Excellent Way. * Be a resource and be accessible to students by maintaining visibility through the school Community and Family Engagement * Engage staff, students, and Families during school activities including, but not limited to, Parent-Teacher Organization, Family Nights, Literacy nights, Conferences, Open Houses and International Night. * Engage students and parents with Home visits. * Be a resource and liaison for parents during the school registration (AEB, Intent to Return) process, for family support during crises and connecting families to general needs and services. * Understands and effectively communicate state regulations regarding Child Protection Services process, mandatory reporting, and other local, state, and federally related systems. * Responds to issues involving staff, conflicts in policies and regulations, community concerns, parental requests that may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue. Other Duties * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
