Venture Academy is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year for a 7th/8th grade language arts teacher! We are looking for applicants who believe all kids can learn and have experience using data to inform instruction. About Venture Academy Venture Academy&#8217;s mission is to build entrepreneurs by developing the independence, scholarship, and leadership of young people. Venture Academy serves 350 students in grades 6-12. Venture Academy opened in 2013 and is located right off the Green Line in Minneapolis. Our model prepares young people for college, career and life through personalized, project-based and experiential learning. As we grow, we seek dedicated, innovative, and fun educators to join our team! 7th/8th Language Arts Teacher Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for the planning and preparation of two grade level Language Arts content (2 blocks of 7th grade LA, 2 blocks of 8th grade LA) from the Language of Literature (2012) textbook edition and supplement additional text as needed * Implement daily lesson plans that are ELA standards-aligned, centered around complex text, with multiple formative assessment opportunities and a final check for understanding (exit ticket) * Use the data collected from the daily lesson to modify/adjust future lessons * Track student data at an individual level that is directly connected to an ELA standard * Plan 7th and 8th grade content in a way that supports vertical alignment and progression * Use student data to inform class groupings to best meet the needs of learners. * Differentiate lessons so that all students have access to the content * Prepare students for summative assessments including MAP and MCA, as well as interim assessments. * Set strategic growth goals and monitor student progress towards goals * Openly communicate with parents and guardians to support the needs of their learner Apply now to become a trailblazing Venture Academy Special Education Teacher.
