Director of Community Education, 1 fte. -Maple Lake Schools Date of availability: July 1, 2020 Position open until filled JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Community Education is responsible for directing, managing and providing leadership in the development and implementation of the school districts&#8217;s community services, community relations, community educational and recreational programs. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, organizes and administers a broad program of community education including adult basic education and enrichment, GED, youth development and recreation, early childhood education, preschool and, Kidville childcare program. Recruits, screens, interviews, selects and trains staff for all community education programs and activities. Supervises staff of all community education programs and perform evaluations. Administers the school district facility use and scheduling for all district and non-district events and activities. Develops, recommends and implements policies, procedures and fees for facility use. Communicates with custodial staff for building needs. Administers community education programs in accordance with the state community education guidelines and school board policies. Creates materials for local advertisements, prepares and publishes the Community Education Catalogs and contributes to the District Newsletters. Effectively markets all community education programs via a variety of media. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENT: BA or BS is required. MA in Administration with emphasis in Community Education preferred. Other licenses will be considered. Valid Minnesota driver&#8217;s license. Maple Lake is located 40 miles west of the Twin Cities and 30 miles southeast of St. Cloud. Maple Lake Irish extracurricular and co-curricular activities have enjoyed enormous success over the last several years. Our students have a history of scoring well on state assessments. JOB SUMMARY:
