High School Special Education Teacher- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)- Neuro Behavioral Disorders- 2020-2021 School Year MN New Country School (MNCS) a Kindergarten through 12th Grade Public Charter School- Henderson, MN. is located in Sibley County and currently enrolls approximately 220 students. Minnesota New Country School offers experiential learning in a student led, project-based learning environment. Learning opportunities at MNCS emphasize exploring the world through project-based learning. Employment with MNCS offers teamwork, leadership opportunities, challenges and room to grow. We believe that excellent teachers are critical to the success of all students, as well as creating and maintaining a safe, positive community atmosphere that emphasizes continuous progress toward physical, emotional and mental health. The ideal candidate will join a team of special education teachers, on-site social workers, a special education administrative assistant to facilitate all due process paperwork, and highly involved related providers such as the school psychologist and occupational therapist. The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be licensed in at least two areas (ASD and LD or EBD) or as an Academic Behavior Specialist and ASD will provide specialized instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities (LD, OHD, ASD, or EBD) The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in the following areas: . reading, writing and/or math instruction . social skills instruction . organizational skills instruction . use of assistive software and technology .
