Job Description: The Operations Coordinator (OC) is responsible for implementing a powerful vision for supporting student achievement through helping to manage remote and site-based operations. The OC will support classroom teachers and school leaders by coordinating food services, facilities, supporting technology needs, and other daily operations for HCHS. We passionately believe that smooth and effective operations allow the instructional team to focus on preparing every student for success in college and in life. The Operations Coordinator is a member of the HCHS Operations Team and reports directly to the Dean of Operations (DO). Candidates that are selected for an interview will receive additional information regarding specific roles and responsibilities. Responsibilities adjust depending on the plan for in-person, hybrid, or distance learning for the 2020-2021 school year. Responsibilities: Attendance Management &#183; Manage daily attendance systems &#183; Train staff on attendance and breakfast count systems &#183; Manage Accuracy of daily attendance systems &#183; Communicate daily with families and staff about absences &#183; Collaborate with leadership team on attendance records, tracking, supporting, and reporting &#183; Conduct periodic truancy reporting to Hennepin County Family and Staff Communication and Office Support &#183; Serve as lead on family communication &#183; Respond to student injuries/illnesses and provide first aid &#183; Serve as an interpreter for teachers and families &#183; Complete translations for teachers and families &#183; Provide general office support as needed &#183; Manage student arrival and dismissal logistics &#183; Support DO with new staff logistics and onboarding Event Coordination &#183; Coordinate fall and spring picture days &#183; Coordinate annual vision and hearing screenings &#183; Support the coordination of all campus events &#183; Support food service with lunch coverage and setting up for events where food is served &#183; Support with field trip coordination &#183; Support DO with assessment logistics and technology management &#183; Support DO with vendor procurement and management Operations and Technology Support &#183; Support student meal distribution and food service vendor management &#183; Support DO in overall facilities management &#183; Coordinate inventory of all student laptops and support with the DO &#183; Respond to technology requests from staff and students (e.g. smartboards, projectors, copiers, laptop issues, etc) and help troubleshoot with DO and/or IT Network Support &#183; Support additional school operations areas as needed Perform other duties as required and assigned. Hiawatha Employment Logistics Adjustments in place for hybrid or distance learning. &#183; Hiawatha Collegiate High School students&#8217; school day is from 8:15am-3:45pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:15am-1:20pm on Friday. &#183; Teachers must be present from 7:30am-4:00pm three days each week and 8:00am-4:20pm two days each week. &#183; Professional development sessions are held each Friday from 1:40pm-4:00pm. &#183; All Hiawatha staff are expected to attend and participate in relevant evening family events to be held at the school. Skills and Qualifications: Required: &#183; Fluency in Spanish and/or Somali &#183; Exceptional attention to detail and ability to creatively develop and manage systems &#183; Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve &#183; General knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite &#183; Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making and professional discretion &#183; Ability to learn the budgeting process, laws, rules, procedures, and programs specifically related to the operation of a Minnesota charter school Preferred &#183; Experience working in a K-12 setting with a diverse student population &#183; Previous operations experience Compensation Salary for this position is competitive and based on prior experience. ·         Hiawatha Collegiate High School students’ school day is from 8:15am-3:45pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:15am-1:20pm on Friday.

·         Teachers must be present from 7:30am-4:00pm three days each week and 8:00am-4:20pm two days each week. 

·         Professional development sessions are held each Friday from 1:40pm-4:00pm.

·         All Hiawatha staff are expected to attend and participate in relevant evening family events to be held at the school.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

Required:

·         Fluency in Spanish and/or Somali

·         Exceptional attention to detail and ability to creatively develop and manage systems

·         Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve

·         General knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)  and Google Suite

·         Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making and professional discretion
