ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Implement designated curriculum(s) and supplement activities as needed to meet the educational needs of young children. * Design student learner outcomes and goals that meet individual needs. * Effectively involve parents in observation, children&#8217;s activities and the sharing of parents interests and skills by building rapport with families. * Foster community awareness and positive communications with students, parents, and district personnel. * Develop and organize a stimulating physical setting to promote successful learning. * Plan varied learning activities appropriate to the children&#8217;s age and development.. * Provide effective direction and support in involving the classroom educational assistant and parents in classroom preparation and activities. * Practice sensitivity and support to children and their families regarding cultural, economic, and racial diversity. * Insure that licensing criteria are implemented. * Provide and encourage frequent and warm interaction between children and adults. * Oversee the nutritious snacks provided to children. * Participate in effective staff development, including staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training. * Provide systematic and developmental evaluation to be included in the child&#8217;s permanent cumulative file. * Maintain cost effective management of classroom resources and supplies * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. * Knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum and concepts. * Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. * Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. * Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. * Ability to organize and coordinate work. * Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. * Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a classroom setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight. Attend to children's personal hygiene needs. QUALIFICATIONS * MN State Certification as an Early Childhood or Elementary/Preprimary Educator * MN State Certification in the Early Childhood level preferred. Early Childhood Classroom Teacher

JOB SUMMARY:
