TYPICAL ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and carry out the vision, mission, and goals for Armstrong High School Student Activities programs at the high school and provide direction for our youth programs. 2. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to the District&#8217;s Strategic Plan. 3. Administrate all School Board Policies and Procedures and Administrative Rules and Procedures as they might affect the activities program. 4. Responsible for all matters related to supervision and oversight of coaches and advisors, including but not limited to hiring, evaluation, discipline, and assignment subject to the approval of the Principal, Executive Director of Community Education, and Superintendent. 5. Attends all home activities and Booster Club meetings and/or arranges for other administrative representation. 6. Ensure all gate/ticket revenues and participation fees are collected, accounted, and deposited per district policy. 7. Develops student activities budget and approves requisitions for necessary supplies, equipment, and materials. Supervises fundraisers related to student activities. 8. Acts as tournament manager for all league and tournament playoff activities that are assigned to the District. 9. Responsible for determining the eligibility of all students for athletic teams regarding MSHSL rules and Armstrong High School policy. 10. Coordinates with the Buildings &, Grounds Department to ensure that all facilities, fields, gymnasiums, and locker rooms are properly maintained and secured. 11. Represents the school in all activities business at Leagues, Conference, and State meetings. 12. Maintain accurate personnel files for all activity coaches and advisors. 13. Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner. Expected to make weekly administration meetings and be available during the regular school hours. 14. Will be responsible for monitoring the academic progress of student athletes in all activities. 15. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Supervision of Others * Direct supervision of coaches, secretaries, and trainers Coordination Activities * Booster Clubs Training and Experience (positions in this class typically require): * Evidence of successful supervisory or coordinating experience preferred * Experience working with students in grades 9-12 preferred * Evidence of an excellent record of past professional performance applicable to performing all duties of the position Licensing Requirements (positions in this class typically require): * Candidate has a certificate, Bachelor&#8217;s degree, or licensure in community education or educational leadership. Knowledge and Skills (position requirements at entry): * Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. * Evidence of excellent human relations skills demonstrated in a variety of professional settings, including conflict resolution with youth and adults, small and large group facilitation skills. * Knowledge of MN State High School League, District 281, and Conference rules. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Physical Requirements: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
