Position: Job Title: Hmong Language Teacher Position Type: Full-time, 10 months, Exempt Employee, Union Eligible Hours: 8:30am &#8211; 4:30pm Reports To: Principal ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION: Community School of Excellence (CSE) is Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade Hmong Language and Culture Charter School. It provides a world-class education through a caring and innovative environment that fosters inquiring, knowledgeable and compassionate students who embrace the Hmong culture and celebrate intercultural understanding and respect CULTURE OF LEARNING: CSE believes that every scholar has the right to learn, be engaged, and grow in a healthy school environment. This means that CSE must foster a culture of learning that embraces every scholar&#8217;s strengths and explore ways to strengthen our relationships with our scholars and their families. CSE is committed to building collaborative leadership and effective capacity between and among staff, parents and scholars. This is accomplished by changing our behaviors and actions so we can better support our scholars and parents in achieving their academic goals. This means that any employees coming to CSE must share, understand, and implement this culture of learning at all levels of the organization. By having consistency, we can shift not only the behaviors of our staff, but our students and parents will equally be engaged in the process. Creating a social-emotional learning environment Responsibilities: &#8226; Prepare lesson plans and conduct daily classroom instruction in Hmong language at an appropriate instructional level. &#8226; Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in both the classroom as well as instructional. &#8226; Organize the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment. &#8226; Demonstrate effective use of Hmong effective use of Hmong Language usage and etiquettes. &#8226; Observe and evaluate student&#8217;s to determine student progress or to make suggestions for improvement. &#8226; Provide feedback to parents on a student&#8217;s progress at conferences and other meetings. &#8226; Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor. &#8226; Work to improve the overall quality of education received by students in the school. &#8226; Participate in the development of curricular standards and benchmark. &#8226; Be a resource to the school and community in Hmong language and culture. Qualifications: &#8226; Bachelor is Degree from an accredited college or university. &#8226; A valid Minnesota Teacher License (applicable level-area endorsements preferred) &#8226; Strong oral and written communication skills in both Hmong and English &#8226; Ability to teach Hmong literacy and culture &#8226; Experience in working directly with Hmong students in school setting is preferred.
