Preschool Teacher, Full Time, Twin Cities Nature & Farm Based School

Children's Country Day School is a nurturing, nature-based preschool fostering a love of learning, respect for others, and a positive self concept. We are situated on a 7 acre model farm, overlooking picturesque St. Paul. Children's Country Day School has been providing quality early childhood education for over 45 years. We serve children ages 16 months to 5 years. We are looking to add high quality teachers to our program for the 2020-2021 school year. Positions we are interviewing for are as follows: Preschool I Lead Classroom Teacher This teacher would co-teach with another Lead Teacher and would work with the same group of students for the entire school year. There would be 10 children in this class approximately between the ages of 2 &#189;-3 &#189;. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) creating loving connections with children, caring for the emotional and physical needs of all students (including diaper changes or assisting with potty training), regularly communicating with families, planning curriculum, selecting and rotating classroom materials, conducting student observations and assessments, preparing for and leading conferences, and helping children to connect with nature and animals. Preschool II Support Teacher This teacher would support two classrooms as needed, each with 10 children and 1 Lead Teacher. Children in these classrooms would be between the ages of 3 &#189; and 5. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) creating loving connections with children, caring for the emotional and physical needs of all students, assisting Lead Teachers with various tasks such as preparing snack and classroom clean up, assisting with communication with families as needed, assisting with planning curriculum, conducting student observations and assessments, helping children to connect with nature and animals. This support staff would step in for a teacher when either of the two classroom teachers are absent. As a nature-based preschool, classes daily spend a great deal of time outdoors year round. Due to Covid-19 we have a number of safety protocols in place. A few of these protocols include: &#8226; Limiting only children and staff in our building &#8226; All staff and children have their temperature taken upon arrival &#8226; Limiting classrooms to groups of 10 children &#8226; Increasing cleaning frequency &#8226; Mask requirements for staff and parents &#8226; Strict illness exclusion policies Applicants must have a degree in early childhood, environmental studies or a related field and be Rule 3 Teacher qualified.
