Position Overview The successful candidate will be an individual who is committeed to equitable education of all students. She or he will have a strong background in instruction and assessment for learning practices, and will focus on ensuring the learning and achievement of each student, and will develop students' knowledge, skills and abilities in comprehending, speaking, reading and writing a language other than English, and to develop an understanding and appreciation of the native culture of the countries where the language is the primary means of communication. Candidate must be a strong team player with an enthusiasm for teaching High School aged students. Successful candidate will have a good understanding of Professional Learning Communities, an understanding of interdisciplinary planning and teaching, and a knowledge of how technology can enhance instruction. A strong interest and desire to work with students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds and academic ability levels is desired. Preferences We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with students. Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning as evidenced by graduate-level work or an earned degree, as well as participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area. Qualifications The successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and current Minnesota State Licensure in Spanish Education. Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students; creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with elementary level students using differentiation, guided reading, and technology skills preferred. Prefer candidate with experience working with diverse learners. Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
