He/she reports to the Special Education Coordinator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Educational Programming Assign caseloads for special education teaching staff Supervision of special education teachers and paraprofessionals Assign paraprofessionals Provide training and guidance to special education teachers in the roles of paraprofessional supervision Provide input regarding classroom placement for special education students Advise Special Education Coordinator of any trends/concerns in special education programming. Coordination Maintain current demographics and data regarding all students on IEPs Provide input to IEP teams and building administrators regarding amended consequences for students receiving special education services Communication Report weekly to Special Education Coordinator Establish working relations with colleagues, developing effective systems for reciprocal communication about students with special needs. This includes ongoing communication with building administrators. Establish regular communication mechanisms with assigned special education team(s). Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to understand special education finance. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills Computer and technology skills enabling the incumbent to successfully complete the duties of this position are required. This includes using a personal computer, instructional technology, and other forms of technology commonly used in a school setting. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Active license as a Special Education Teacher or another professional discipline (e.g. speech therapy, counselor, social worker,) from the MN Department of Education. Summary

Special Education Assistant Coordinators are responsible for leading, organizing, facilitating and supporting special education for the assigned academy or academies. He/she reports to the Special Education Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Educational Programming

Assign caseloads for special education teaching staff

Supervision of special education teachers and paraprofessionals
