We are recruiting a Special Education Teacher for the 2020 &#8211; 2021 school year. Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head of School and special education coordinator, SPED teachers will perform difficult professional work providing broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs, assist scholars to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each scholars&#8217; ability, and use a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work with directors, educational team, other staff and parents to ensure ACC&#8217;s mission, values, vision, and curriculum objectives are supported, modeled and taught to the scholars. *This is subject to change Line/Staff Relationship: Immediate supervisor: Head of School Works closely with SPED Coordinator, SPED Educational Partners, SPED Director, classroom teachers and other support staff. Nature of work: Duties will include implementing curriculum that incorporates MN state standards, Latino culture into every day lessons and activities, creating and maintaining an appropriate classroom physical environment, providing cultural experiences based in Latino cultures, setting up a classroom that is labeled in both Spanish and English, meeting weekly with specialist and team to plan, conducting literacy and math assessments, analyzing data, and communicating and engaging parents.
