Established in 2005, LoveWorks Academy is a K-8 public charter school focused on providing access to arts education to all students. Our school is community driven by the love of arts, life-long personalized academic empowerment, and overall community uplift. Our students are more than pupils! Position Purpose: Responsible for executing advanced level administrative duties for the organization with minimal supervision and ensuring that the assigned areas run effectively. Key areas of responsibility include instructional leadership, project coordination and organizational standards.
Organization Relationships: This position reports directly to the Executive Director and will interact on a regular basis with other staff, teachers, and external customers. This position works cooperatively with other school staff.
Principal Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
Model or co-teach lessons.
Assess student learning.
Provide academic interventions for struggling students.
Analyze student data and provide support in analyzing student data.
Model effective, rigorous, research-based and culturally responsive teaching techniques in the classroom and demonstrate to teachers.
Communicate with families through conferences, newsletters, and/or by telephone.
Maintain and develop the collaborative community approach with all team members.
Provide daily instructional support to all teachers including but not limited to:
Coaching sessions in the classroom,
Written feedback,
Intellectual preparation meetings,
Provide resources to supplement curriculum, and
Give feedback on lesson plans.
Assist with development of district curriculum, instruction and assessments.
Provide training to teachers based on Professional Development Plan and teacher individual needs.
Complete 2 formal observations for each teacher, including a 30 minute pre and post meeting.
Manage all online learning programs, including Google Classroom and others.
Accessible for on-going informal support, resources and collaboration.
Design and/or identify best internal formative and summative assessments.
Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum
Encourage ongoing self-reflection and professional growth for all teachers.
As the Assistant District Assessment Coordinator,
Support management of all testing systems - NWEA, Pearson, WIDA, ACCESS, MCAs, etc.
Train all staff on assessment procedures and test security.
Meet with the Executive Director as necessary to discuss instruction, the needs of teachers, assessment data and other matters.
Responsible for the coordination, implementation, planning and training for technology needs of the school and assigned individuals.
Partner with school leaders on maintaining integrity and accuracy of student records, including maintenance and tracking of attendance and retention.
Respond to and resolve routine internal and external inquiries with parents, employees and school organizations.
Support, in coordination with others, annual audits, and other requested audits from state, federal or local authorities.
Provide backup support to other office administrators during vacations, sick days and other unplanned needs.
Attend all required and assigned meetings and training.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Performing all other duties as assigned.

Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.
Current driver’s license along with a good driving record and valid insurance, if applicable.
Education and Experience:
Four year degree in education or related field
Preference given to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Education or related field
Prior experience in instructional leadership
Minnesota Principal/administration license
Minimum of two years prior supervisory experience
