Kandiyohi Academy Vision Kandiyohi Academy&#8217;s vision is to provide a student-centered learning environment where all of its students, families, and community have active and meaningful roles in the educational development of youth. Kandiyohi Academy will provide academic success for all students through its STEM focused Charter School and a strong investment in engaging community/families in the educational processes of our children. Mission Kandiyohi Academy's mission is to serve the needs of all of its students as they prepare for becoming life-long learners and contributing members of society. Kandiyohi Academy will utilize best practice in both traditional and STEM curricula as well as effective whole child development to ensure that all children learn to care for others while becoming scientific, technological and logical thinkers. Primary objective of this position: To coordinate the Special Education program and provide educational support for special education students. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. To possess a current teacher license for the State of Minnesota 2. To conduct standardized assessments for students who are being evaluated for special education services as well as for those who are being reassessed for continuing services 3. To develop and case manage Individual Educational Plans (I.E.P.s) for all eligible students 4. To provide academic support, as detailed in I.E.P.s through small group instruction or as teacher support in the classroom 5. To plan and facilitate parent meetings and child study team meetings 6. To work in partnership with staff members to plan and coordinate the program for students on I.E.P.s 7. Report to and attend training and all special education meetings directed by the Special Education Director 8. To be special education liaison to Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning and Minnesota Association of Charter Schools 9. To evaluate materials and work to improve curriculum so it meets the needs of students 10.
