Duties include the supervision and evaluation of all program staff, development of school aged services and programs, the marketing of programs and services, the implementation and evaluation of program activities and objectives, monitoring program activities and functions to assure compliance with district policies, laws or guidelines pertaining to program activities and functions. Cannon Falls Community Education is accepting applications for the position of School Age Childcare Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation for our Cannon Kids program. Essential Duties 1. Provide integrated curriculum in the area of Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School Age Care including: * Develop and follow appropriate program policies and procedures * Fosters positive relationships with staff, children, families, school personnel, and the community. * Monitor enrollment and ensure appropriate staff to child ratio. * Set program goals and objectives. * Coordinate and conduct field trips and onsite programming. * Interact with children on a daily basis. * Maintain a safe and age appropriate environment for all children. * Planning and implementing new programs and services. 2. Management of program: * Managing, delegating, monitoring, evaluating, and training staff. * Assist in hiring, orientation, evaluation, staffing, and scheduling of staff. * Conduct regular staff meetings. * Provide ongoing communications with parents via phone, email, and meetings. * Manage weekly billing of Cannon Kids and Preschool families, including monitoring automatic payments, keeping accounts current, and invoicing for special days and child care assistance. * Manage inventory of supplies, food, equipment, etc. 3. Coordinate all aspects of program toward attaining and maintaining standards, including: * Evaluate programs according to student, parent and community needs. * Share results of program successes and areas for improvement. * Accurately develop and monitor budget. * Create and maintain various files, records and reports both electronically and in paper formats including registration, field trip, attendance, medication, accident, behavior, transportation, etc. * Ensuring the program meets DHS Certification standards and DHS Licensing standards. 4. Initiate, maintain and coordinate contact with area agencies: * Attend meetings and report to the Community Education Advisory Council, School Board and other groups as requested. * Communicate with Cannon Falls Elementary and Preschool staff to ensure smooth transitions between academics and out of school time. 5. Show advancement toward professional development including: * Attend program meetings and training conferences to ensure that program goals and standards are met. * Assist in coordinating professional development for Cannon Kids staff. 6. Other duties as assigned by the Community Education Director * Prepare program information for the CE Brochure and other methods of advertising to promote the services of the program. * Locating and applying for grants, preparing departmental reports, and community relations/involvement. * District policies and procedures pertaining to facility use and scheduling. * Knowledge of registration processes and procedures of the department. Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education, child development, recreation or closely related field is preferred. * Experience working with preschool and school age children (ages 3-12). * Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. * Proficient computer skills; effective use of Google Suite (including docs, sheets, forms and slides) and email, required. * Previous experience using Procare registration program. * Experience in supervision and coordination of staff. * Willingness to adapt rapidly and effectively change to meet program needs. * First Aid and CPR certified - offered through the district. * Ability to work flexible hours, prioritize work and office organizational functions. * Problem-solving and decision making skills. Hours Monday-Friday 7:30 am &#8211; 4:00 pm Flexible Summer hours may be an option. Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
