Interventions should promote positive educational and interpersonal outcomes for all students and are embedded in the historical social work commitment to social and economic justice for all people. Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. * Support implementation of Tier I Culturally Responsive - Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This includes the use of data to inform prevention and intervention practices. * Work with educator teams and staff to implement and utilize universal screening protocols to identify students with delays in neurodevelopmental, social, emotional or behavioral functioning. * Work with educator teams and staff to implement evidence-based interventions to affect positive social, emotional, and behavioral changes in students. * Assist in developing interventions, functional-based behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students. * Provide coaching to staff to support the implementation and fidelity of function based behavior plans. * Conduct workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc. in classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing the behavior proficiency of staff. * Use ongoing assessments to maintain a record of student progress. * Engage in on-going professional development to increase knowledge and skills of positive student behavior support for all students, targeted students and students who represent sub-group populations. * Supervise students to ensure a safe, non-threatening, nurturing environment where students can thrive. * Participate in building level teams and/or grade level meetings, as appropriate. * Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. * Advocate for the potential of each student. * Carry out any and all duties deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor. Student-focused - Experience working effectively with diverse populations and with successful Implementation of classroom based positive behavior management strategies Supervisory Responsibilities * None Required Education, License, Experience and Skills * Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred. Persons that are Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA), have a certification as Registered Behavior Technician and 2 years minimum experience, or a bachelors or master&#8217;s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field may be considered for the position. * Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with others, be polite, helpful, courteous and compassionate * Conflict resolution skills, team player and professional demeanor * Ability to effectively present information to parents, students, administration, public groups, and/or the School Board * Ability to facilitate meetings * Knowledge and understanding of child find and special education due process * Ability to consistently and effectively design instructional activities for students, and to make adjustments in teaching strategies to meet individual needs * Ability to work with a wide variety of students in a calm, patient, understanding, creative, flexible, student-centered environment * Skill in planning, organizing objectives in a multi-disciplinary team within timeline constraints * Ability to utilize instructional and assistive technologies * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Ability to follow directives from supervisors * Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information at all times * Must clear pre-employment background check and substance abuse screening. Desirable Qualifications * Master&#8217;s degree in social work. * Experience working with children in a school setting. Physical Requirements * Must be able to operate a computer, copier, printer, fax machine and phone. * Must be able to move, traverse and position self in various locations, including rugged terrain * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. * The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. * The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb steps, stoop, kneel, or crouch. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * The employee must be willing to be trained in and use de-escalation/restraint techniques for managing crisis situations. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Purpose
