Position: Special Education Teacher Open: 10-11-21 Location: Circle of Life Academy Close: Until filled Pay: COLA Pay Scale Benefits: Full Status: Full Time The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is seeking a qualified applicant to be responsible for Licensed Special Education Teacher responsible for instructing students in an assigned subject area in order to ensure the Mission of the School is met.. Position Summary: &#8226; Create and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that facilitates the learning process in order to ensure a high level of academic achievement for all students. &#8226; Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student&#8217;s IEP. &#8226; Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques. &#8226; Maintain a high level of professionalism to ensure student and staff confidentiality. &#8226; Comply with reporting standards regarding child abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter for the safety of children. &#8226; Schedules team meetings and works cooperatively with child study team members and others in developing instructional goals and strategies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: &#8226; Knowledge of principles and methods of curriculum design and implementation, teaching and instruction of individuals and groups, and the measurement of teaching effects. &#8226; Knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council and the Education department. &#8226; Knowledge and experience with PBIS and Restorative Practices. &#8226; Skills at using technology for data collection, reports, and student learning. &#8226; Skills at communicating in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, and the community-at-large both verbally and in writing. &#8226; Ability to identify and apply creative teaching methods. &#8226; Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate student data. Qualifications Include: &#8226; Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in the subject area or areas and level the candidate is hired to teach. &#8226; Current Minnesota State Teaching License in subject area or areas and level the candidate is hired to teach. &#8226; Experience working with students with special needs. &#8226; Valid Driver&#8217;s License and Insurance. &#8226; Must be able pass a background check and drug screening.
