Perpich Center for Arts Education Perpich Center for Arts Education is the dedicated state agency supporting arts education for Minnesota. Our mission is to provide all Minnesota students the opportunity to develop, enhance, and integrate their artistic and academic abilities to their highest potential. We do this by teaching in and through the arts. We teach in our arts high school for juniors and seniors. We also teach through our professional development and research activities. We support teaching art and arts integration through the extensive arts education material in our library. Job Summary Perpich Arts High School is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Media Arts instructor with a focus in Digital Cinema. The incumbent will teach technical vocabulary and required skills, understanding camera controls and options, framing, lighting and other area of pre and post production; teach students to develop fundamental abilities in media arts including mastering technical vocabulary, understanding of the cinematic process, managing files and editing techniques. Teach students how to identify elements and techniques used to create and implement concepts. Further student&#8217;s knowledge of the history and practice in analyzing and critiquing. Evaluate each student's performance on a continual basis and prepare progress reports to students and parents/guardians; make suggestions for improvements as indicated. Participate in parent/teacher conferences; enter grades using Infinite Campus. Participate in weekly meetings with the Studio Arts team to discuss curriculum, collaboration, and student success; participate in faculty and staff meetings. Establish and maintain positive and healthy relationships with students and parents/guardians. Comply with the Minnesota Code of Ethics for Teachers. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Minimum Qualifications &#8226; Valid Minnesota K-12 teaching license in Media Arts. &#8226; Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or related field. &#8226; Demonstrated focus in Digital and Darkroom Photography. &#8226; Classroom management and organization skills. &#8226; Experience and proficiency in the implementation of current best practices and strategies in instruction and learning. &#8226; Strong oral and written communication skills. &#8226; Positive interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to students, parents, staff from diverse backgrounds. &#8226; Knowledge of relevant learning technology and proficient in its use (i.e. SmartTV technology, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, MS Office Suite, Google applications).
