LEARNER CENTERED CURRICULUM COORDINATORS - LEIDAL EDUCATION CENTER West Fargo Public Schools is looking for great candidates to join our curriculum and instruction team! POSITION: Learner Centered Curriculum Coordinators - Leidal Education Center TERM: 217-day contract beginning with the 2022-2023 School Year SUMMARY: The curriculum coordinator works collaboratively with the curriculum and instruction team, educators, and the administrative team to facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the content area curriculum, resources, and professional development opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Curriculum and Coordination * Facilitates revisions and alignment of curriculum based on state and national standards and competencies * Plans and coordinates regular meetings with district curriculum teams * Facilitates the design and revision of proficiency scales with a progression of learning for the content area(s) * Facilitates resource adoption that aligns to district curriculum based on content standards * Collaborates with educators and leaders on effective instructional strategies and current best practices research * Facilitates embedding the instructional framework into the curriculum development process and ensures key components are represented in curriculum documents * Collaborates with the Curriculum and Instruction team to ensure curriculum is inclusive and connected across grade bands and courses * Facilitates the design and revision of unit guides and supporting materials to clarify the guaranteed and viable curriculum and available resources for the content area(s) Professional Development * Designs, coordinates, and facilitates professional development in the content area(s) * Assists in collection, organization, and analysis of data to plan for professional development activities * Collaborates with the Curriculum and Instruction team to develop content area professional development course(s) * Formulates recommendations for staff based on reading and research * Serves as a resource and develops leadership capacity for instructional staff * Facilitates and implements protocols to ensure equitable practices * Collaborates with local universities (credit opportunities, grants, staff development opportunities) Professional Learning * Remains current with the scholarship, pedagogy, and theoretical underpinnings of the content area(s) * Researches, designs, and facilitates professional development for specific district initiatives and continuous improvement * Engages in curriculum work and learning opportunities at the state and regional level Essential knowledge: * Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum * Learner-centered instruction &#8211; Marzano instructional framework * Professional Learning Communities * Formative Assessment & Standards-based grading * Engagement Strategies * Instructional Strategies &#8211; specific to the content Essential skills: * Collaboration with professional staff, support staff, parents, learners, and all other stakeholders * Problem solving * Communication &#8211; both oral and written * Analysis, interpretation and use data QUALIFICATIONS: * Master&#8217;s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field * Valid ND teaching license * At least 3-5 years of prior and related work experience. * Demonstrated success in leadership * Additional considerations: * There are several areas for our team to consider as we look for the candidate(s) to best fit our team. While some of these areas of consideration would be a portion of a position, a stipend position in another capacity, while others may be the majority of a coordinator role. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field
  • Valid ND teaching license
  • At least 3-5 years of prior and related work experience.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership
  • Additional considerations:
    • There are several areas for our team to consider as we look for the candidate(s) to best fit our team.
