POSITION SUMMARY: The Benefits Specialist under the direction of the Director of Finance, coordinates all aspects of employee benefits and benefit information; resolving insurance benefit, retirement, reporting and reconciliation problems; providing information to new and current employees, providers and/or administrators; researching providers for administrative and committee review; ensuring employee proof of coverage and accurate billing and ensure proper implementation of local, state and federal benefit statutes. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Maintain accurate information for all employees regarding personal, contract and deduction information; * Maintain procedures and forms whereby Agency personnel can add to, delete from, or update the employee benefits; * Planning, organizing and directing the activities related to group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible fringe benefits and other insurance programs; * Maintain medical savings account list of participants and work with insurer to get the correct information into each employee&#8217;s account; * Maintain ledgers for retired employees and employees on COBRA in regard to health, life and dental insurances; * Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions; * Acts as a liaison between all health plan representatives and employee benefits; * Preparing and developing communication and educational materials regarding the benefits package for all the insured employees; * Communicate with employees concerning employment benefits and assist them with proper completion of enrollment/termination forms; * Assist employees with questions related to insurance coverage and work closely with insurer & Payroll Processing Specialist to coordinate enrollment and payroll deduction information; * Assists employees, beneficiaries and/or insurance providers for the purpose of verifying eligibility, conveying information and processing claims; * Aid employees with questions they may have on their benefits, flex, contract and payroll check; * Assist employee through the resignation process by preparing necessary documentation to process retirement funds and COBRA notification; * Work with employees on calculating salary and benefits if they are planning to take a leave and notify TRA or PERA; * Inform employees/retirees of any rate changes; * Prepare payroll related reports; * Coordinate training of Agency administration in the understanding and utilization of employee benefits information. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Associate&#8217;s Degree and experience in a job-related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job related filed that enables performance of all aspects of this position. Valid driver&#8217;s license is required. CONTRACT/SALARY: 260 day full-time position to begin as soon as possible. Beginning salary range is $54,342 -$77,396 and is dependent upon education, qualifications and experience. Excellent fringe benefits.
